FIELD: pipes and hoses.

SUBSTANCE: method and device allow performing repair, diagnostics, other types of maintenance without development of trenches and excavation of aggressive medium. Pipeline section outside is enclosed by plug-in repair-diagnostic module (RDM). RDM is a detachable shell which, when folded and having a streamlined wedge-like shape, is pushed through the aggressive medium until contact with the pipe. Then the shell is opened by means of a jack and covers the pipe perpendicular to its axis, forming around the pipe section outside a closed cavity, tightly enclosing it from all sides from aggressive medium. Pipeline and shell are cleaned from inside of formed cavity from feed medium supplied during installation into cavity of compressed air or flushing fluid displacing the medium. Then working shell drum is rotated, coaxial to axis of pipeline, and maintenance of pipeline section is performed.

EFFECT: group of inventions relates to maintenance of pipelines laid in weak waterlogged soils, bogs, aggressive media.
