SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods (versions) of regeneration of spent catalyst containing a transition metal and a catalyst support in a metal reactor, including: (1) contacting the spent catalyst with a chlorine-containing stream which contains a chlorine-containing compound to obtain a chlorinated spent catalyst; (2) contacting the chlorinated spent catalyst with a decoking flow comprising oxygen to obtain a decoked catalyst; and (3) contacting the decoked catalyst with a fluorine-containing stream which contains a fluorine-containing compound to obtain a regenerated catalyst containing less than about 1 wt% carbon. At that, transition metal includes Group 8–11 transition metal; catalyst support contains zeolites with large pores with average pore diameter in the range from about 7 Å to about 12 Å and spent catalyst additionally contains chlorine and / or fluorine. Invention also relates to a method of reforming.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of catalytic activity for spent aromatization catalysts.
