SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of regenerating a sulfur-contaminated catalyst comprising a transition metal and a catalyst support comprising an L-type zeolite, comprising washing the sulfur-contaminated catalyst with an aqueous solution, wherein the aqueous solution optionally contains an alkali metal to obtain a washed catalyst; bringing the washed catalyst into contact with a halogen solution containing a chlorine-containing compound and a fluorine-containing compound to obtain a halogenated catalyst; and halogenated catalyst calcination. Invention also relates to a method of reforming hydrocarbon material.

EFFECT: technical result is improved reduction of catalytic activity of sulfur-contaminated aromatization catalysts.
