FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions and techniques for making composite wood materials, as well as fire-resistant wood-particle boards based thereon, specifically to a binder modifier for making wood boards, comprising a mixture of aluminum hydroxide with particle size of 0.5–10 mcm, fine silica with particle size of 0.2–2.0 mcm and siloxane, with the following ratio of components, pts.wt: aluminum hydroxide 60–80, silicon oxide 19.0–39.5, siloxane 0.5–1.0, or mixture of aluminum hydroxide with particle size of 0.5–2.0 mcm, aluminum oxyhydroxide with particle size of 0.5–2.0 mcm, aluminum oxide α-phase with particle size of 0.5–2.0 mcm, fine-dispersed silicon oxide with particle size of 0.2–2.0 mcm and siloxane, with the following ratio of components, pts.wt: aluminum hydroxide 20–30, aluminum oxyhydroxide 30–60, aluminum oxide α-phase 15–35, fine silicon oxide 4.0–19.2, siloxane 0.5–1.0. Method of producing binder modifier involves preliminary preliminary grinding of aluminum hydroxide in an aqueous medium until achieving the required granulometric composition, its separation by filtration, subsequent dehydration, separation into fractions, addition of silicon oxide during mixing, treatment of the obtained mixture with siloxane and final two-step heating to 70–90 °C, and then to 105–110 °C.

EFFECT: compound of binders for wood-board materials of this composition, obtained using said method, increases degree of isotropy properties of wood-particle materials and their fire-resistance.
