FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing or generating image data and can be used when typing and editing text. Inventive intention consists in formation of variable-length cursor, which may depend on location in cursor pointer line, which is one of its boundaries, and in its formation in the form of an area with a background color different from the original and font contrast to background color, or in the form of characters themselves, but with a characteristic of a font different from the original one. In a separate case, the invention enables to ensure, at any point, that the cursor pointer length is at least half the length of the line. Cursor does not deteriorate the visual perception of the text.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the size of a text cursor to facilitate its visibility.
