FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to aggregating compositions for solid materials or substrates, including metal oxide or ceramic, metal, polymer or plastic, vegetable solid materials or substrates or other types of solid materials or substrates, as well as to a method of using aggregating compositions. Aggregating composition contains reaction products: (a) at least one amine of general formula R1R2NH, R1R2R3N, or mixture and combination thereof, where R1, R2 and R3 independently represent a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group containing from about 1 to 40 carbon atoms and the required number of hydrogen atoms for filling valence, and wherein one or more carbon atoms can be replaced with one or more heteroatoms selected from a group consisting of boron, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus, sulfur or mixtures thereof or combinations thereof, and wherein one or more hydrogen atoms can be substituted with one or more monovalent atoms selected from the group consisting of fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine or mixtures thereof, or combinations, and (b) at least one compound capable of reacting with an amine, selected from (1) sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrobromic acid, nitric acid, boric acid, mono-, di- and polymeric carboxylic acids, containing from 1 to 40 carbon atoms, and their mixtures and combinations, or (2) at least one Lewis acid containing metal compound and mixture or combination thereof, where metal is selected from a group consisting of metals of 2–17 groups, and their mixtures or combinations. Said composition forms a partial, substantially continuous and/or continuous coating on surfaces of solid materials, modifying, converting and/or modifying aggregation and/or zeta potential of solid materials such that solid materials with said coating have improved self-aggregation characteristics.
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of self-aggregation characteristics.
