FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: ball trapping device (BTD) is part of a ball cleaning system (BCS) and is installed in a drain pipeline of circulating water after a condenser (heat exchanger), is intended for trapping contaminated balls in contaminated water, redirecting them to calibrating device (if any) and further into loading chamber of ball recirculation device (BRD). Three versions of BTDFlR: 1) equipped with stationary ball trapping mesh (BTM) in the form of a straight circular truncated cone with automatic flushing by return water flow with the help of rotary vortex purifier of forced back flushing located on inner side of cone; 2) equipped with fixed (stationary) ball trapping mesh (BTM) in the form of straight circular truncated cone with automatic flushing by reverse water flow by means of vortex inductor located on inner side of cone and with forced flushing under excessive pressure of water directed from outer side of cone, with option of two versions of forced flushing system: one common drive or two independent drives; 3) equipped with a movable ball trapping screen (BTS) in form of parts of a right circular truncated cone with a mechanism for opening parts of the screen, with automatic washing with a return flow of water, by means of a vortex inductor located on the inner side of the cone and with optional use of forced flushing under excess water pressure from the outer side of the cone – also with two possible versions of the drive system of the optional forced flushing.

EFFECT: adapted to specific BCS operation conditions mechanized and automated cleaning of BTD screens or screens from solid contaminants and growing biological organisms constantly arriving with balls – for significant reduction of hydraulic resistance of screens or screens, prevention of emergency situations due to possible jamming of moving parts (rotors, shafts) of BTD, higher reliability and stability of BTD operation.
