SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of data protection, to the method of recording additional information into digital images and documents containing images requiring authentication and protection against change, realized by the fact that in the selected area of the digital image in one or more colour channels a hidden marker is introduced, created by withdrawal or introduction of tones in the selected tone range and in the selected spatial area according to the specified program so that the histogram of the selected area is converted into a hardware and/or program-readable marker corresponding to a linear bar code.
EFFECT: authentication of a digital image on a concealed marker is realized by reading an additional message from the hidden marker and comparing it with the original one.
