FIELD: acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acoustics. Method includes reading, using colour-reading device corresponding colours applied on canvas by a plurality of drawing tools, as colour data, wherein each of the plurality of drawing tools is configured to draw corresponding colours of the colour palette, and the corresponding colours of the colour palette are associated with the set of musical notes, respectively. Method also includes processing, using a colour data colour processing module, to generate a musical composition from one or more musical notes derived from colour data based on a set of musical notes which are associated with corresponding colours in the colour data. Sequence of one or more musical notes in a musical composition is based on the order of the corresponding colours applied on the canvas. Colour reading device is also configured to scan the shape or size of the corresponding colours applied on the canvas as part of the colour data; and colour processing module is also configured to determine information on duration of one or more musical notes in musical composition based on shape or size of corresponding colours, wherein musical composition is also generated based on note duration information.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of identifying notes.
