FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to separation of isotopes, in particular to a method of producing highly-enriched isotopes with an intermediate mass number using a gas centrifugal method from a small amount of the initial isotopic mixture. Method comprises filling the cascade with an initial isotopic mixture, accumulating the target intermediate isotope in the cascade with parameters where there is no mixing of streams at the inlet of the stage, into which the initial isotopic mixture is supplied, for accumulation of the maximum amount of the desired intermediate isotope in the cascade and removal from the cascade of the remaining isotopes of the separated chemical element, the mode without supply and extraction of the isotope mixture from the cascade and holding until steady state is established to concentrate target intermediate isotope in steps of middle part of cascade and removing accumulated target intermediate isotope from cascade in one of output streams of light or heavy fraction, which value is equal to value of supply flow with disconnected second outlet flow and supply of initial mixture with supply flow to selected stage at opposite end of cascade.
EFFECT: invention improves efficiency of a gas centrifuge cascade and production of high-enriched isotopes with an intermediate mass number of not less than 90 % using a gas centrifugal method.
