FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and can be used to find distribution functions of axial deformations. Method of measuring deformations involves measuring spatial distribution of axial deformations on sections of optical fiber with Bragg gratings by measuring an informative spectrum of reflected light wave intensities from sections of optical fiber with Bragg gratings. Desired function of distributing axial deformations is found as solution of 1-type Fredholm integral equation which describes the functioning of an optical fiber with deformable Bragg gratings, wherein the Bragg grating is made weakly reflecting and stretched along the optical fiber.
EFFECT: technical result consists in wider range and high accuracy of measurement results of distribution function of axial deformations for extended control sections.
