FIELD: gravimetry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gravimetry and is intended for setting vertical of working laser beam in ballistic gravimeter during high-precision absolute measurements of gravity force or its increment. Method for setting vertical of working laser beam is based on creation of reference basis of two auxiliary laser beams, interconnected with working laser beam, directed to angle reflector, deviated relative to working laser beam by equal but opposite directed angles. Determination of deviation of working laser beam from vertical is carried out by observation of mutual shift of image reflected from angle beam reflector on screen of visualiser during free fall of test body in ballistic laser gravimeter. Vertical setting is performed by correcting the direction of the working laser beam for alignment of differences in the value of displacement of auxiliary laser beams.

EFFECT: high accuracy of setting the vertical of the laser beam in the ballistic gravimeter and reducing the error in measuring the absolute value of acceleration of gravity.
