SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of power engineering. Method of controlling liquid discharge from a collector of a cooling tower includes the following steps: checking the activation signal of solenoid valve (EV) of the collector resetting, determination of the liquid flow rate flowing between the inlet opening and the collector outlet opening, in order to provide the fluid discharge operation contained in the header, wherein said resetting operation is permitted provided that a certain liquid flow value flowing between inlet and outlet of collector, is at least equal to the reference threshold value, and wherein said resetting operation is prohibited if the determined liquid flow rate is zero or below the said reference threshold value.

EFFECT: invention provides reliable operation of the system.
