FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire equipment and can be used for fire extinguishing of flammable and combustible liquids arising in emergencies from various industrial equipment, fuel lines, cistern, tanks, reservoirs. Extinguishing device consists of an assembly of vertical channels with a specified ratio of the height of the vertical channel H, which is not filled with liquid, to its equivalent diameter and is equipped with a grid flame-splitting element. Assembly of vertical channels and mesh element are arranged in steel housing consisting of vertical and pyramidal parts with vertical and inclined walls installed along perimeter of assembly of vertical channels. Height of vertical walls is equal to height of channels. Inclined walls form a receiving reservoir made in the form of a truncated turned pyramid, located under the vertical channels assembly to direct the liquid into the hole of the inlet pipe of the hydraulic lock of the siphon structure placed directly under the bottom of the receiving container.

EFFECT: improving quenching efficiency, optimizing metal consumption and improving operating characteristics of devices for quenching liquids with operating temperature T<0_8Tboil, where Tboil≥40 °C is minimum boiling point of liquid.
