FIELD: fire safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a method and a device to extinguish oil and oil products, flammable (FL) and highly flammable liquids (HFL) in vertical steel reservoirs (VSR) and vertical steel reservoirs with fixed roof and pontoon (VSRP). The method to extinguish oil and oil products in a reservoir consists in the fact that the fire extinguishing mixture specified above is supplied from a float sprayer that comes to the surface of the burning liquid. Fire extinguishing is organised in three stages. The first stage: a float sprayer is installed, which is connected by a pipeline via a lock-start gear with an injector, under the layer of the burning liquid at the depth equal to at least the sprayer's height or on the surface of the specified liquid. The second stage: after signal supply from a fire annunciator the lock-start gear is opened on the injector, and the fire extinguishing mixture specified above is supplied via a pipeline and the float sprayer under the layer and/or to the surface of the flammable liquid with compact jets from the centre to the periphery parallel to the horizon. The third stage: the float sprayer comes above the surface of the flammable liquid. The fire extinguishing mixture is supplied with intensity of at least 0.15 kg/s-m2 with circular sweeping of jets. In the injector device for extinguishing of oil and oil products in a reservoir the outlet pipeline at the outer side of the reservoir is connected to the injector via a hinged joint and the lock-start gear. At the other side the outlet pipeline via a hinged joint and a float is connected to a sprayer, which is arranged with controllable floatage and ensures surfacing of the "outlet pipeline-float-sprayer" console during extinguishing and arrangement of the sprayer above the burning surface. The sprayer has at least one tier of nozzle holes arranged in a horizontal plane with a turn by 360°.
EFFECT: provision of efficient extinguishing time, reduced specific consumption rate of metal structures, resistance to explosion of oil and oil product vapours.
