FIELD: ventilation and air conditioning.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of fan construction and can be used in creation of reverse ventilators of the main ventilation for the mining industry and for tunnel ventilation systems. Method consists in the fact that one of two impellers, performing the function of guiding device, installed on the shaft of drive engine, is brake releases, and other impeller providing direct direction of air flow, is braked, wherein braked wheel is kinematically disconnected from shaft, and disinhibited wheel is kinematically connected to shaft, after which drive is reversed.

EFFECT: possibility to create axial fans with efficiency in reversible mode of operation close to capacity at direct operation.
