FIELD: smoking accessories.
SUBSTANCE: cartridge (70) for e-vaping device (60) comprises infrared sensor (81) configured to measure infrared radiation emitted by at least a portion of heating element (24) connected to dispensing adapter (25) in cartridge (70). Field of view of infrared sensor (81) covers the entire heating element (24). Infrared sensor (81) can be an infrared LED. E-vaping device (60) may comprise control circuit (11) configured to determine temperature of heating element (24) based on the sensor data generated by infrared sensor (81) and to control the supply of electric power to cartridge (70) based on the temperature of heating element (24). Control circuit (11) has the possibility of controlling electrical power to maintain temperature of heating element (24) at a level lower than the threshold temperature.
EFFECT: control circuit (11) has the possibility of determining the temperature of the heating element by accessing at least part of sensor data stored in memory (82) in cartridge (70).
