FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for excitation of continuous vibrations of a string converter with one electromagnetic excitation coil in free oscillation mode for tracking, as part of a monitoring system, technical state of the structure of a building or structure during operation, which enables to detect in time the excess of permissible deformations of the structure and prevent its destruction. Essence of the invention lies in the fact that the device for exciting continuous oscillations of the string consists of a starting pulse generator, a string converter, a switch, a half-wave sinusoid pulse generator with a voltage controlled amplitude, a first analogue signal multiplier and a second analogue signal multiplier, an amplifier, a limiter amplifier, a frequency detector, a sampling and storage unit controlled by the unidirectional voltage, a first waiting multivibrator, a coincidence circuit, a second idle multivibrator, an amplitude detector, a low-pass filter, a comparator and an excitation pulse phase correction unit.
EFFECT: stability of string oscillations, high accuracy of measuring frequency of its oscillations and constancy of relative error of a string converter as to frequency depending on amplitude of vibrations of the string.
