FIELD: medical microbiology.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing a nutrient medium for extracting and cultivating legionella involves washing spearfish in distilled water at ratio of 1:3. Mixture is stirred manually for 30 minutes. After that sediment is separated by centrifugation at 2,500 rpm for 10 minutes at temperature 20–25 °C. Supernatant is drained and the residue is re-suspended at ratio of 1:2 with distilled water. Then, the reaction of the mixture is corrected to pH 3.0 and autolysis is carried out in a thermostat at temperature of 45–50 °C for 96 hours with periodic mixing no more than once or twice a day. Autolysate is then clarified by centrifugation at 2,500 rpm for 10 minutes. Poured into glass cylinders with volume of screwed polyethylene cover and stored in refrigerator under 1 % chloroform at temperature 2–8 °C. invention increases output of biomass of legionella.
EFFECT: invention can be used for production of nutrient media in laboratory diagnostics of legionellosis.
