FIELD: chemical or physical processes.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing hydroxylated polyolefin by live polymerisation. Method includes steps of: providing a reaction mixture containing a diene, a polar solvent, a nonpolar solvent and an anionic initiator; a step for enabling the polymerisation to proceed in the reaction mixture; a step for stopping the polymerisation reaction by adding an epoxide; and a step for converting the oxyanion to obtain a hydroxylated polyolefin. Polymerisation is carried out at temperature equal to 50 °C or lower. Ratio of the number of moles of the polar solvent to the amount of moles of the anionic initiator is 3 or less. Amount of diene contained in the reaction mixture is 40 wt % or less in terms of total weight of reaction mixture.
EFFECT: technical result is the development of a method of producing hydroxylated polyolefins having high degree of functionalisation with hydroxy groups of more than 99 %.
