SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a hand dryer, which are installed in public toilets as an alternative to paper towels. Hand dryer comprising a nozzle having an elongated air knife outlet for releasing an air knife along the width of a user's hand held flat in front of the outlet, in such a way to mechanically clean water from the hand as the hand is moved longitudinally relative to the air knife, the nozzle having a single rectilinear portion facing the user's palm or rear side, wherein nozzle comprises curved enveloping end section extending at least around part of hand side of user's hand, wherein the nozzle curvilinear end portion has a curvature radius in range of 5–50 mm, wherein the elongated air knife outlet extends along the nozzle straight section and along the nozzle curved end section, wherein two such nozzles are provided, one for each arm.

EFFECT: this allows to effectively dry areas around user's thumb.
