SUBSTANCE: method for measuring heart rate and RR is as follows: a probing radar signal irradiates a person in a controlled area. Distance R between the person and the receiving antenna is then determined from the reflected signal from the person. Because of respiration and heart contraction, the distance R is varied. Radar heart rate meter and a RR are also provided, comprising a transmitting path including a radiator in the form of a controlled voltage generator, a power amplifier, a transmitting antenna connected in series, and a receiving path consisting of a series-connected receiving antenna, low-noise amplifier, a mixer, an intermediate frequency amplifier, the output of which is connected to a digital information processing unit, wherein the second input of the mixer is connected to the second output of the generator of the controlled voltage of the transmitting path.
