FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: device for sternal closure for attachment of the first and second lateral halves of the sternum dissected in the longitudinal direction, comprises first element with possibility of sliding movement and second element with possibility of sliding movement. First element comprises the first connecting shutoff element and at least one ledge extending downward from the first connecting shutoff element. At least one protrusion is made so that it rests against the outer edge of the first lateral half of the sternum. First connecting overlapping element features length and comprises female part. Female part is partially limited by the base of the first connecting overlapping element. Base comprises an upper side containing multiple upward projecting teeth located substantially perpendicular to the length of the first connecting shutoff element. Second element is telescopically coupled with first element with possibility of sliding movement. Second element comprises the second connecting shutoff element and at least one ledge extending downward from the second connecting shutoff element. At least one protrusion is made so that it rests against the outer edge of the second lateral half of the sternum. Second connecting overlapping element is characterized by length and comprises male part. Second connecting overlapping element comprises a lower side, comprising a plurality of protruding teeth, configured to engage with a plurality of upwardly projecting teeth. Plurality of protruding teeth are arranged substantially perpendicular to the length of the second connecting overlapping element. When the first and second sliding elements are conjugated or telescopically conjugated, plurality of protruding upward and protruding teeth are engaged with each other so, which allows only telescoping reduction of length of device for sternal closure without changing the position of a plurality of upwardly projecting teeth relative to the base of the first connecting overlapping element and without changing the position of the plurality of protruding dents relative to the lower side of the second connecting lapping element. Female part is made with possibility of introduction into female part only after elastic deformation of at least part of at least one of male and female parts. Female and female parts are arranged so that at conjugation of second element with possibility of sliding movement with first element with possibility of sliding movement elastic deformation leads to forced engagement between male and female parts, as well as to forced engagement between multiple protruding teeth and protruding teeth down.
EFFECT: invention enables sliding movement of the sternum closure device.
