FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tobacco industry, specifically to devices for cigarette ignition or heating. Device configured to automatically ignite or heat the cigarette, which comprises a heat source system, control system and upper cover (6) made with possibility of opening and closing. Heat source system comprises electric heating chamber (22) and ignition element (21) located in lower part of electric heating chamber (22); said ignition element (21) is provided with electric heating element (212); said electric heating chamber (22) is provided with at least one pair of holes (221) of the electric heating chamber for passage of the beam passing through the chamber wall; said control system comprises (41) a control board, mechanical switch (42), mode switch (43), an infrared radiation source (44), light-sensitive switch (45) and switch (46) of the main circuit of the device; wherein mechanical switch (42) controls opening or closing of upper cover (6) and controls switching on and off of switch (46) of main circuit of device; wherein mode switch (43) is intended to provide switching between operation of ignition element (21) and operation of electric heating chamber (22); wherein said infrared radiation source (44), light-sensitive switch (45) and said holes (221) of the electric heating chamber for beam passage are located on one straight line; by means of said light-sensitive switch (45) current supply to said ignition element (21) or electric heating chamber (22) is controlled and disconnected. Also disclosed is a method for automatic ignition or heating of a cigarette using the disclosed device.

EFFECT: technical result consists in automation of ignition or heating of cigarettes of various configurations.
