SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a system for distributing keys between a server and a medical device. Method of distributing keys between server (1) and medical device (3A, 3B), in particular an infusion device, comprises: providing, at server (1), security key (4A, 4B) to be used for secure transmission of medical device (3A, 3B) data; establishing first communication channel (11) between server (1) and computing device (2); establishing second communication channel (30A, 30B) between computing device (2) and medical device (3A, 3B); retrieval by security device (2) of security key (4A, 4B) from server (1) via first communication channel (11) and transfer by computer (2) of extracted security key (4A, 4B) to medical device (3A, 3B) via second communication channel (30A, 30B).

EFFECT: technical result is providing confidentiality, integrity and authentication of information when distributing security keys between a server and a medical device, absence of requirement for high computing power for a medical device, high security of transmitted data.
