FIELD: protection of metals from corrosion.

SUBSTANCE: corrosion inhibitor composition contains from about 2 to about 30 wt % salt of a fatty acid-amine compound; from about 1 to about 40 wt % of a cationic surfactant; from about 1 to about 40 wt % of a substituted aromatic amine; from about 1 to about 30 wt % phosphoric acid ester; from 0 to about 20 wt % of a solvent-stabilizing compound; from 0 to about 5 wt % of demulsifier; from 0 to about 15 wt % of an organosulphur compound; as well as from about 40 to about 80 wt % of an aromatic solvent. Method for reduction, inhibition or prevention of corrosion of metal surface used in production, transportation, processing or storage of hydrocarbon fluid, containing elemental sulfur or polysulphide, comprises contacting the composition described above with a metal surface.

EFFECT: reduction, inhibition and prevention of corrosion of metal surface used in extraction, transportation, cleaning or storage of hydrocarbon liquids, containing free sulfur or polysulphide.
