FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to probing concrete structure to determine its internal characteristics. Disclosed is a method of probing a concrete structure, comprising steps of: sending electromagnetic wave into said structure by means of antenna, receiving reflected signal of said electromagnetic wave from said structure by means of said antenna, internal characteristics of said structure are determined from said reflected signal. Step of sending an electromagnetic wave to said structure comprises a step of sending a plurality of electromagnetic probing signals of different frequencies to said structure. Step of receiving said reflected signal comprises steps of receiving a reflected signal for each of said probing signals and determining amplitude and phase for each of said reflected signals. Internal characteristics are determined using said amplitude and phase of reflected signals. Bearing signals for said probing signals are generated by an adjustable-frequency analogue generator, and said reflected signals are demodulated in analogue demodulating multiplier, in which they are multiplied with signal from said analogue generator. Device for carrying out said method is also described.

EFFECT: higher reliability of probing and reduced power consumption.
