FIELD: wireless communication systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to end-to-end beam formation in a wireless communication system using an end-to-end relay. There are described techniques of end-to-end beam forming in a wireless communication system using clusters of access nodes, which differ from a coverage area of a user. End-to-end beam formation of forward link may include multiple access nodes in one or more clusters of access nodes transmitting signals, which when relaying multiple signals transmission/reception channels within the end-to-end retransmitter, form user beams in the user's coverage area. End-to-end reverse link formation beam formation includes application of beam shaping weight coefficients to signals transmitted by user terminals and relayed by multiple channels of signals transmission/reception in an end-to-end relay to access nodes for generation of back-beam signals associated with reverse user beams. Clusters of access nodes may overlap or be outside the coverage area of user, and multiple clusters of access nodes may serve one or several coverage areas of user selectively or simultaneously. Plurality of frequency bands of the feeder link may be used by the same or different clusters of access nodes.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the amount of data which can be transmitted through a satellite by focusing energy into beams.
