FIELD: communication system.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an adaptive symbol synchronization aid used in communication systems. In method y average voltage is proportional to mismatch between current value of phase and its evaluation, sign and amplitude of which is proportional to sign and value of phase (time) mismatch, is obtained by comparing the signal after its demodulation with clock pulses in the corresponding device and its averaging. Further, using the average voltage of phase mismatch-proportional (error voltage), control voltage is generated so that mismatch of phases is minimized. During the initial time interval (Tn) using the measured values of error voltages, conditional densities of distribution of error voltage values are calculated, which it will take after some specified time. At the first step, a control voltage is generated for the current value of the error voltage depending on its value. Then, the phase tracking mode is performed until the current value of the error voltage exceeds a threshold value, after which it proceeds to the first step.

EFFECT: reduced synchronization time.
