FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used to control operation of a step drive comprising a double-winding stepper motor (SM) operating in a full-step mode. Technical result is achieved due to monitoring of current in windings, control of correctness of its direction and sufficient value for making steps in required direction. During operation of SM continuous currents in each winding are measured. Two voltage signals corresponding to the current in each winding are generated. They are compared with specified upper and lower threshold values and four primary logic signals are generated. Depending on the obtained values of the primary logic signals, four secondary logic signals are generated, based on the obtained values of which generating a step voltage signal, each stationary value of which corresponds to one of four possible states of steady-state values of currents in windings of step motor. And if values of all four secondary logic signals simultaneously have value of logic "0", stationary value of step voltage signal corresponding to this transient state of electric drive is generated.
EFFECT: technical result consists in expansion of functional capabilities and improvement of reliability of telemetry control of electric drive operation.
