FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for oligomerization of an olefin monomer, involving periodic or continuous introduction of an olefin monomer, and intermittent or continuous introduction of catalytic system or components of catalyst system into reaction mixture of reaction system; oligomerization of the olefin monomer in the reaction mixture to form an oligomer product; and a periodic or continuous outlet of the reaction system effluent containing the oligomer product from the reaction system, wherein the reaction system contains a total volume of the reaction mixture of the reaction system; and a heat exchange portion of the reaction system, comprising a volume of the heat exchange reaction mixture and a total heat exchange surface area, providing an indirect thermal contact between the reaction mixture and the heat carrier; wherein ratio of total area of heat exchange surface to total volume of reaction mixture of reaction system is in range from 1.25 inch−1 to 5 inch−1; and wherein the rate of output of the oligomer product from the reaction system ranges from 1.5 (lb)(hr−1)(gallon−1) to 6.0 (lb)(hr−1)(gallon−1). Invention also relates to a reaction system and a version of the method for oligomerization of an olefin monomer.
EFFECT: technical result is improved oligomerization of olefins due to improved reaction systems.
