SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for improving sexual function in a man with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and sexual dysfunction, comprising administering to a human a therapeutically effective amount of a peptide comprising an amino acid sequence for SEQ ID NO. 66 (Ile-Asp-Gln-Gln-Val-Leu-Ser-Arg-Ile-Lys-Leu-Glu-Ile-Lys-Arg-Cys-Leu), where the method provides improved sexual function as determined by: comparing points according to a standardized questionnaire selected from a group, consisting of a short questionnaire for assessing sexual function in males, the International Index of Erectile Function, the questionnaire for assessing the sexual health of men and the short form of the questionnaire of the International Society for Urinary Incontinence.
EFFECT: present invention provides creating new and effective therapeutic agents for improving sexual function in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
