FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to surgical drill bits. Drill for making a tubular bore in bone comprises a longitudinal body, a main cutting edge, a main cutting surface and a screw groove. Longitudinal body extends along the axis and has a proximal end and a distal end. Main cutting edge is made on the distal end of the body. Main cutting surface extends from main cutting edge and forms front angle. Helical groove is made around the body and passes from the main cutting surface along the body axis. Main cutting edge represents the main cutting edge of the drill bit. Helical groove is the only screw groove of the drill bit. Helical groove forms angle of spiral that is smaller than front angle. Front angle makes at least 25°.
EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to minimize heat generation when drilling a hole in a bone.
