FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of separation of chiral compounds, specifically to the racemic salt of baclofen hydrogen maleate (Bahma), which can find application for the separation of (S) - and (R) -enantiomers of baclofen. The racemic salt of baclofen hydrogen maleate (Bahma) is characterized in that it has a melting / decomposition point of 164 ± 1°C. The invention also relates to the use of said racemic salt for the separation of (S) - and (R) enantiomers of baclofen, a method for the separation of (S) - and (R) enantiomers of baclofen, which is characterized in that racemic baclofen is converted into racemic salt of baclofen hydrogen maleate into in the presence of maleic acid, and the salt is then separated by selective crystallization to separate the two (S) - and (R) -enantiomers, and by the enantiomeric purification of Bahma salts.
EFFECT: invention makes the separation of baclofen salts more effective.
