SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the development of means for drying and purifying air, namely to the creation of regenerable desiccants, which are designed, in particular, for static absorption of moisture and (or) water vapor present in the surrounding atmosphere. A regenerable desiccant based on bentonite clay includes natural sodium bentonite clay with a content of at least 80% montmorillonite with a fineness of not more than 7.5 mm, preferably less than 1.0 mm and / or 2.5-7.5 mm. The regenerable desiccant may include 5-15% of the mass of powder and / or granules up to 2.5 mm in size of calcium chloride.

EFFECT: increased moisture capacity, ability to sorb from the environment, bind and retain particles, ions and molecules of any electrolytes and resistance to repeated frosts without loss of properties.
