SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and apparatus for generating images of a sequence of plausible display of the passage of time on a daily scale based on a content image. The method implies receiving a content image and predefined styles to be applied to the content image, or style images having styles to be applied to the content image; dividing the content image into n cropped images, where the n cropped images are cropped images that overlap strongly in a predetermined mode determined by the offset direction and the k pixel pitch; applying the trained generative neural network with each of the styles to the n cropped images to obtain n cropped images, restyled according to each of the styles; and combining the restilized n cropped images for each of the styles using the trained fusion neural network to obtain a sequence images of a plausible diurnal time-lapse display for the content image.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the efficiency of image formation.
