FIELD: machines.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus for selective laser sintering (SLS) consists of a laser radiation generator, a base platform and a driving mechanism. The base platform is configured to locate source material for additive production of a multiple-sectioned object. The laser radiation generator is located on the base platform and is configured to apply layers of powdered material onto the surface of each section of the object and to sinter them. The drive mechanism is located under the laser radiation generator and consists of a vertical driving mechanism and a horizontal driving mechanism. The vertical driving mechanism is connected to the laser radiation generator and is configured to raise the laser radiation generator during application and sintering of the layers. The horizontal driving mechanism is configured to move the laser radiation generator horizontally relative to the base platform so that the laser radiation generator is moved above the base platform or independently from the base platform.

EFFECT: possibility to produce large scale shaped items.
