METHOD FOR PROVIDING AXIAL CLEARANCE IN THE CUTTING UNIT OF THE PUMP-CHOPPER AND THE PUMP-CHOPPER CONTAINING A WASHER PERFORMED WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF PROVIDING THE STATED AXIAL CLEARANCE Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC F04D7/04 B02C18/00

FIELD: pumping equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of pumping equipment. The chopper pump contains a cutting wheel connected to an axially extending drive shaft of the chopper pump and driven by it, and the cutting wheel contains a set of cutting blades, and a cutting disk fixedly connected to the body of the chopper pump and having a central hole and a set of cutting holes. The drive shaft and the cutting wheel are mutually connected through the specified center hole of the cutting disc. The cutting wheel and the cutting disc form a cutting assembly configured with a working shearing action between the set of cutting blades of the cutting wheel and the set of cutting holes of the cutting disc at the shearing interface between the cutting wheel and the cutting disc. A washer is located around the drive shaft, which is clamped between the cutting wheel and the cutting disc. Washer thickness is equal to or greater than 0.05 mm and equal to or less than 0.15 mm. The washer is made of degradable paper or plastic material. The chopper pump additionally contains a locking element acting on the cutting wheel and the drive shaft, and fixing the axial clearance between the cutting wheel and the cutting disc, provided by the said washer. The set of cutting holes of the cutting disc is located radially outside an imaginary circle that is concentric with the axial center axis of the grinder pump and which has a fourth diameter. The outer diameter of the washer is less than the specified fourth diameter of the imaginary circle of the cutting disc. The method of ensuring the axial clearance in the cutting unit of the above-described pump-grinder consists in providing a working shearing action at the shearing interface in the specified cutting unit. The method comprises the stages at which the pump casing is placed in an inverted orientation, the cutting disc is fixedly connected to the pump casing, the washer is placed around the drive shaft at the shearing interface between the cutting wheel and the cutting disc. Then, the cutting wheel is connected to the drive shaft through the central hole of the cutting disc, whereby the said washer is clamped between the cutting wheel and the cutting disc, and a locking element is used to act on the cutting wheel and the drive shaft and thereby fix the axial clearance between the cutting wheel and the cutting disc, provided by the specified washer.

EFFECT: improvement of the grinder pump is provided so that working and reproducible axial clearance/clearance between the cutting elements is always ensured during assembly. The invention also simplifies installation where the risk of incorrect installation due to the skill/accuracy of the operator installing the pump is eliminated.
