FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and method for controlling fluid flow to/from multiple intervals in a wellbore. The multilateral well system has a single connection unit for multilateral well inflow control (MWIC) including a channel with the first hole at the upper end of the channel as well as the second and third holes at the lower end of the channel, a primary passage formed by the channel and extending from the first hole to the second hole with a channel connection formed along the channel between the first and second openings. The primary passage has an upper part and a lower part. The upper part extends from the first opening to the channel connection and the lower part extends from the channel connection to the second opening. The side passage is formed by the channel and extends from the channel connection to the third opening. An upper power transfer mechanism (PTM) is installed along the top of the primary bore and near the first hole with reference lines providing connection between the upper PTM and the lower completion assembly. The primary passage is adapted to receive the first tubing string that passes through it. The upper PTM can be connected with the PTM of the tubing string to receive/transmit control signals, data and/or power from/to the lower completion equipment in the sidetracks of the well.
EFFECT: invention provides connection/power supply between surface and production devices in lateral wells.
