FIELD: jet engineering.
SUBSTANCE: adjustable jet engine nozzle comprising drive and non-drive flaps which are hingedly connected to the ends of levers of a lever-hinged mechanism which comprises a nozzle, levers of which are connected to each other by means of hinges in such a way the points of the hinged connection of levers in the middle zone or the ends of levers, respectively, are always located at equal distances from each other irrespective of the position of the mechanism itself. The ends of levers of the mechanism are hingedly connected to the drive and non-drive flaps in such a way that the flaps can be moved when nozzle or cover is opened and also when the flaps are moved when the flaps of nozzle are deflected. The drive and non-drive flaps are kept at the same distances from each other irrespective of the angle of opening of nozzle or the angle of deflection of the flaps of the nozzle. This ensures a certain relative position of the drive and non-drive flaps of nozzle, in particular that they are evenly distributed around the circumference and that there are no gaps between them.
EFFECT: absence of gaps between the flaps of nozzle ensures that there is no loss of the working medium through these gaps and, as a result efficiency of nozzle increases.
