SUBSTANCE: present invention relates generally to audio signal processing. Disclosed are the volume equalizer controller and the control method. According to one embodiment, the volume equalizer controller has an audio content classifier for identifying the content type of the audio signal in real time and a control unit for adjusting the loudness equalizer continuously depending on the identified content type. The control unit can be configured to positively correlate the dynamic gain of the loudness equalizer with the types of informative content of an audio signal and negatively correlate the dynamic gain of the loudness equalizer with the types of interfering audio signal content.
EFFECT: invention ensures ability to automatically and continuously adjust audio enhancers based on the audio content being played.
