FIELD: optical instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of optical instrumentation and concerns a method for controlling pulsed optical radiation. Pulsed optical radiation is controlled by a control element in the form of a plate or lens located in the path of radiation distribution. Elastic vibrations are excited in the control element, which change the curvature of its surface and thereby shift the focus of the control element. The elastic vibrations are synchronized with the optical radiation pulses in such a way that it is focused at a given distance from the radiation source.
EFFECT: increased distance at which high-density radiation can be obtained, and increased accuracy of moving the focus area.
