SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system for visually displaying the usage status of the aircraft overhead bins for luggage. The system for displaying the occupancy status of the overhead bins for luggage in an aircraft contains multiple cameras. Each camera is installed near the corresponding group of overhead luggage bins so that the camera's field of view is directed to the interior of the corresponding group of overhead bins when one of the overhead bins in the group is in the open position. The camera is connected with the possibility of data exchange with the controller and selectively provides the controller with images of the interior of the overhead bins just before the closure of these bins. There is also a projector for each bin group. The projector is connected to the possibility of data exchange with the controller and is installed so that the image received from the controller is projected onto the outer surface of the closed bins. The controller receives images from the cameras and selectively outputs such images to the projector associated with each camera, so that the occupancy display is projected onto the outer surface of the bins.

EFFECT: increased convenience in using the aircraft.
