SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the ventilation device on locomotives or motor cars. The ventilation module for a rail vehicle comprises a case, a first purification stage in the upper area of the case, a second purification stage in the middle area of the case, a dust removal channel, a dust removal filter and an engine room fan. The first purification stage contains a cyclone separator, which contains a dust removal outlet and a cyclone air outlet. The second purification stage is located below the first purification stage in such a way that the air from the cyclone air outlet passes to the second purification stage. The second purification stage contains a surface filter and/or a filter with a high permeability of the filter material. The dust removal channel is connected to the dust removal outlet of the cyclone separator. The dust removal filter is designed to remove air and dust from the case through the dust removal outlet. The engine room fan is designed to suck air through the second purification stage and its output through the air outlet. A rail vehicle with a ventilation module is also claimed.
