FIELD: hydrometallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrometallurgy of rare earth metals (REM) and can be used for extraction of REM from acid solutions produced by sulfuric acid processing of phosphogypsum, other technological sulfuric acid solutions, in the presence of associated metals and ions, with further reextraction into water solutions of mineral acid. Rare earth elements (+3) are extracted from acidic water solutions containing other metals and ions. As an extractant, a solution of hydrazides of α-branched tertiary carboxylic acids of fractions with an average molecular weight of 280 to 290 amu (GD1519) of general formula (1) (where R, R1 and R2 are alkyl radicals, and the sum of carbon atoms is 15 to 19) is used in a hydrocarbon solvent.
Extraction is executed from 0.1 to 2.0 mol/L solutions of H2SO4 with a 0.1 to 0.5 mol/L solution of the described hydrazide in a hydrocarbon solvent.
EFFECT: method provides a high degree and selectivity of extraction of REM(+3) from sulfuric acid media with a pH equal to or less than 0, in the presence of iron(III), calcium(II), aluminum(III), magnesium(II), phosphate ions, decreased losses of extractant associated with increased resistance to hydrolysis and oxidation.
