FIELD: printing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of digital halftone imaging methods used for image printing, particularly by lithographic or flexographic printing machines and digital printing technologies such as inkjet printing. The technical result is achieved by using a raster halftone image suitable for transmitting an image with a continuous tone spectrum and containing multiple spiral raster dots. Said spiral raster dots comprise (i) image pixels arranged in a first arc (200) or in multiple arcs collectively forming a first spiral (100) and (ii) non-image pixels arranged in a second arc (201), or in multiple arcs collectively forming a second spiral (101).
EFFECT: controlled distribution of ink within a raster dot leading to higher image quality, ink conservation and faster drying.
