FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction, in particular to the protection of frame buildings and structures from impact leading to progressive collapse, including one-storey industrial buildings with a significant column pitch and span. The safety structure for protecting frame buildings from progressive collapse includes a brace made in the form of a rod element and located between adjacent columns, and metal casings for fastening metal parts, arranged in the upper and lower parts of the columns. The columns in the upper and lower parts are equipped with supporting elements, with which the ends of the brace form a slider connection, which makes it possible for the ends of the brace to slide in a horizontal plane in the event of a break in the column, while each of the ends of the brace is equipped with a metal support rigidly attached to it, made to slide and each of the two supporting elements of the brace is made of metal plates in the form of a one-piece hollow box with a missing front wall for placing the brace support inside the box, the inner surface of the bottom plate of the box of the lower support element and the inner surface of the top plate of the box of the upper support element are equipped with a gasket made of material with a reduced coefficient of friction, while the upper box is rigidly attached by the back wall to metal frames or embedded parts in the upper part of one column, and the lower box is rigidly attached by the bottom plate to the upper horizontal part of the foundation and by the back wall to the metal casing at the bottom of the opposite column. To strengthen the upper and lower boxes, at least one longitudinal stiffener is provided, fixed by a permanent connection with the upper wall of the box and a metal casing, and the rear wall of the lower box is bearing and its thickness exceeds the thickness of the remaining walls by an amount determined by calculation. To reduce the estimated length of the brace, the structure contains a bar element, one end of which is pivotally connected to the metal casing or embedded parts arranged in the upper part of the column equipped with an abutment for the lower end of the brace, and the other end is attached to the brace with overlays.
EFFECT: technical result of the present technical solution consists in preventing the progressive collapse of a building or structure by including additional safety ties into operation only in an emergency.
