FIELD: glass production.
SUBSTANCE: device for supporting a glass sheet or a stack of glass sheets, called glass, in the contact band between the edge and up to 200 mm from the edge of the glass, without contact with the glass beyond 200 mm from the edge of the glass, contains the first support and the second support. Each of the supports contains a frame and supporting means for supporting the glass, connected to the frame. The support means of each support contain a glass support surface containing a fibrous material capable of contacting the glass in the contact band at a temperature between 400°C and 600°C. The two supports are capable of moving in a transmitting vertical relative motion, allowing the support surface of one of them to pass over or under the support surface of the other one to transmit glass from one support to the other. The support means of the first support contain a passage that allows the lever connected to the second support to pass during the transmitting vertical relative movement. The first support supporting the glass can be placed in a chamber with a special temperature, after which the second support accepts the glass to remove it from the chamber and move it to a cooler area. Then the first support can receive the next glass.
EFFECT: invention is particularly suitable for processing glass sheets moving one after another.
