FIELD: glazing.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and a device for bending and cooling a glass sheet or a package of glass sheets. The method for bending and cooling a glass sheet or a package of glass sheets, called glass, with the first main side and the second main side includes bending glass under the impact of gravity on a gravitational support, during which glass rests on the gravitational support in a peripheral zone of its first main side. The peripheral zone extends 50 mm from the edge of the first main side. The method additionally includes separating glass from the gravitational support, then cooling glass, during which its first main side is free of any contact in its peripheral zone, in the range between a temperature called the upper homogeneous temperature of at least 560°C and a temperature called the lower homogeneous temperature of no more than 500°C, called the critical temperature range. The zone of the first main side, located at a distance of more than 200 mm from the edge, is at a temperature at least equal to the temperature of the peripheral zone at the moment when the peripheral zone reaches the upper homogeneous temperature.
EFFECT: increase in the quality of multilayer glazing.
