FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: area of application: to predict critical failure of a moving unit based on acoustic-emission data. The substance of the invention consists in the fact that at least two sensors capturing acoustic emission signals are attached near the analysed units, the acoustic signals from the sensors obtained during normal operation of the units are stored and considered reference signals, the acoustic signals from the sensors are captured during further operation of the moving units, the acoustic signals obtained at the previous stage are compared with the reference signals, based on the difference in the type of acoustic signals compared at the previous stage, a conclusion is made about a deviation of functioning of the moving units from the reference value, wherein the location of the alleged defect in the unit is determined by the time of reception of similar acoustic signals from the sensors, and the type of the alleged defect is determined by the nature of the acoustic signal, the change in time of the difference of the acoustic signals from the reference value is analysed obtaining the change rate, and the time of the onset of the critical failure of the unit and the type thereof are calculated, the calculated time is reported to the operator by the moving units preventing formation of defects, the data from the previous stages is used to predict the state of said or similar moving units in the future.
EFFECT: technical result is provided possibility to predict the onset of critical events associated with internal failure of moving units.
